will pass congress He says that the cost of the railway wil bo $75000000 and it will only take foni years to build it The cost of the Di Lesseps canal will not be less than $400-090000 and it will take twenty to twenty-live years to build it The railway will be 1200 miles nearer the United States than the canal and it will escape all the effects of the deadly climate of the isthmus proper where it rains six months in the year He thinks that Dc Lesseps would nevei build the canal under any circumstances Eads has no fears of diplomatic complications and sees in the Clayton-Bulwer treaty an
